Minuteman Press Cape Town owners Kobus Marais and Rob Brickhill recently took delivery of the new AccurioPress C6100 digital printing colour press from Konica Minolta at their premises in the City Bowl. The company has been using Konica Minolta’s digital presses in their operation since they opened over 14 years ago.
‘We upgrade our machines every three to four years to stay on top of technology,’ said Marais. ‘The C6100 is a natural progression from the C1100, which we were extremely happy with.’
In the company’s ongoing quest to ensure the highest possible quality for their customers, Minuteman insists on colour consistency and precision. They found this in the IQ-501 Intelligent Colour Optimiser, which comes as part of the AccurioPress C6100.
The IQ-501 ensures colour consistency and registration accuracy with highly automated image registration and colour control, a closed-loop system that constantly monitors and adjusts printed output, and automated colour calibration and profiling for quicker operations, less waste and industry-leading productivity.
Minuteman Press Cape Town is a full-service print centre with a large emphasis on booklets, business stationery and printed marketing material. The bulk of the company’s work tends to be on coated art paper and card. They also print across the range of fines and recycled for bespoke requirements, invitations and the like.

The C6100 installed at Minuteman Press Cape Town won the global 2018 Buyers Lab Production Pro Award for Outstanding Colour in Mid-Volume Production Print and is the world’s first electrophotographic press that could comply to the stringent ISO\PAS 15339 print criteria. The press features a 100ppm output speed on media up to 400gsm; 1,8 million sheet monthly duty cycle; automated closed-loop quality-management system and a paper capacity of up to 13,890 sheets.
